Three Industry Leaders Honored At Leadership Music Dale Franklin Award Gala

KRIS KRISTOFFERSON, WILLIE NELSON and FRED FOSTER were honored with the LEADERSHIP MUSIC DALE FRANKLIN AWARD last night (8/29) at an awards dinner/gala in MUSIC CITY. BILLY SWAN and DOLLY PARTON (who was one of the first artists FOSTER signed to his label, MONUMENT RECORDS) presented FOSTER with his award, and PARTON also sang her first hit, “Dumb Blonde.”
Publisher BOB BECKHAM introduced KRISTOFFERSON by video and praised his songwriting talent, lack of ego and his believing in himself to succeed. JAMEY JOHNSON, LORRIE MORGAN and RANDY TRAVIS were on hand to perform in NELSON’s honor, and BRENDA LEE presented his award.
The DALE FRANKLIN AWARD is presented to “music industry leaders who exemplify the highest quality of leadership and leading by example.”
