ENTERCOM Sports KCSP/KANSAS CITY raised over $105,000 in cash and pledges during The Larry Stewart Memorial Radiothon, which took place last THURSDAY, AUGUST 26th at Crown Center. All proceeds will benefit the SALVATION ARMY CHILDREN’S SHELTER of KANSAS CITY.
The donation total surpassed the $93,000 in pledges that was raised last year and was the largest amount ever raised in 610 Sports Radio’s history with the annual event.
610 Sports Radio personalities BOB FESCOE, JOSH KLINGLER, SHAN SHARIFF and NICK WRIGHT broadcast in separate shifts between 6a-7p from Crown Center in downtown KANSAS CITY. Thousands of donations were made by listeners via phone, on the Internet and in person.
The event was done in memory of the late LARRY STEWART, who was known as Kansas City’s "Secret Santa." The businessman and philanthropist gained national recognition for giving over a million dollars in anonymous donations over the course of his life and was a noted supporter of THE SALVATION ARMY.
