Mary Lee Robinson Officially Named Market Manager For Bustos/Salt Lake City

BUSTOS MEDIA has taken the Interim tag off and made MARY LEE ROBINSON's appointment as Market Manager for its SALT LAKE CITY operations official. ROBINSON has been running the cluster -- Regional Mexican KDUT (LA GRAN D), Spanish Hits KBMG (MAGIA 106.1), Regional Mexican KTUB-A, and low-power TV Spanish independent KBTU-TV -- since late MAY while winding down her HULA GIRL ad agency.
BROADCAST MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY Pres./CEO JAY MEYERS, who is running BUSTOS as CEO, joked, "I don't want to say MARY LEE was a slam dunk, but the last two people I hired into the company came from HAWAII and the CAYMAN ISLANDS. She was just 30 minutes away and trust me, that saved a ton on airfare; although why she insisted on the helicopter is beyond me ... I had the honor of having MARY LEE work for me at JACOR and then CC, and to say that she is the very best is a huge understatement. She is without a doubt the most-respected broadcaster in SALT LAKE CITY and is so strong that the fact she's going to have to hang out with me for a few days every six or eight weeks won't damage her reputation one bit -- and that's saying something! Excuse me, we're a lean and mean company and I have to gas up the copter for her flight home."
ROBINSON said, "I'm simply thrilled to be back in radio, and the opportunity to come in and run this group of assets which serve the fastest growing population in SALT LAKE CITY is truly exciting. One in every five consumers will be Hispanic in the next census and we're in a perfect position to serve them and deliver their spending power to our advertisers. Getting an opportunity to work with JAY MEYERS again is a true joy -- to have fun the way radio was meant to be!" Following up MEYERS' helicopter joke, ROBINSON added, "I asked, he said yes. What he doesn't realize is that I'm actually the pilot! Excuse me, I have to go now, the chopper is warmed up and waiting on the tarmac."
