EMF Buys Last Of Beacon's Stations

OHIO MEDIA WATCH reports that the last three stations owned by the late HAROLD GLUNT's BEACON BROADCASTING are being sold to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $225,000. EMF is buying Hot AC WEXC (C-107.1)/GREENVILLE, PA-YOUNGSTOWN, OH, which has flipped to Contemporary Christian using EMF's K-LOVE format, and Classic Country WLOA-A/FARRELL, PA and WGRP-A/GREENVILLE, PA, which EMF intends to spin off. The deal has yet to be filed with the FCC. BEACON recently sold Sports simulcast WANR-A/WARREN, OH and WRTK-A/NILES, OH to WHIPLASH RADIO for $50,000, with WRTK flipping to Classic Country.
In deals filed with the FCC, DAVIDSON MEDIA is selling Gospel WLOU-A and Gospel WLLV-A (1240 LOVE)/LOUISVILLE to PETER DAVIDSON's ANCHOR RADIO for $800,000.
GRACE BROADCASTING SERVICES, INC. is selling Talk WMLR-A (THE PATRIOT 1230)/HOHENWALD, TN to TWO BROTHERS BROADCASTING for $152,500.
JAMES S. MAYSON is selling AC KJMB-F/BLYTHE, CA to Station Manager JAMES M. MORRIS for $150,000 in a promissory note.
RADIO PALATKA, INC. is selling Adult Standards WPLK-A/PALATKA, FL to NATKIM RADIO, LLC for $425,000.
DEER CREEK BROADCASTING, LLC is buying COLOMA HAMILTON CITY, LLC, licensee of Sports KRER (SPORTS FAN 101.7)/HAMILTON CITY, CA, from COLOMA BROADCASTING, LLC for $30,000 and assumption of debt, pursuant to a 2005 option.
A divorce settlement will transfer NANCY K.H. GRUBBS' 50.5% interest in RADIO RANCH, LTD. to her ex-husband LYNDELL M. GRUBBS, who will own 100% of the company after the deal. RADIO RANCH owns Country KRNH (THE RANCH) and Classic Hits KKVR (THE RIVER)/KERRVILLE, TX and Hot AC KSYY (SUNNY 96.5)/INGRAM, TX.
RADIO DISNEY has asked the FCC for an extension of its Silent STAs for KMUS-A/SPERRY, OK and KALY-A/LOS RANCHOS DE ALBUQUERQUE, NM, which it says a buyer is preparing to acquire pending financing issues.
And SPIRIT BROADCASTING, INC. has requested a Silent STA for WGTM-A/WILSON, NC due to "severe financial distress, staffing, and equipment difficulties."
