The OBAMA administration has nominated CARLOS GARCIA-PEREZ as the new Director of the Office of CUBA Broadcasting at the BROADCASTING BOARD OF GOVERNORS, the position overseeing RADIO MARTI and TV MARTI, the stations aimed at listeners and viewers in CUBA, according to the MIAMI HERALD.
GARCIA-PEREZ, an attorney in PUERTO RICO, is a member of the CUBAN AMERICAN NATIONAL FOUNDATION, a group which has been a critic of the stations' efforts. He would replace PEDRO ROIG, who recently resigned, at the helm of the stations.
