KRKO Battles County Council Over Tower Rules
September 24, 2010 at 4:28 AM (PT)
Sports S-R BROADCASTING Sports KRKO-A (FOX SPORTS RADIO 1380)/EVERETT, WA is fighting the SNOHOMISH COUNTY COUNCIL once again over the rebuilding its towers, which were toppled by vandals, at the same height when they wear out or making changes to the tower positions in the future to improve the station's signal.
A message on the station's website tells listeners to ask the council to vote "no" on Amendment 30 and 30A. The message says that Amendment 30, the ban on rebuilding, is "designed to eliminate AM radio in SNOHOMISH COUNTY," and Amendment 30A "prevents us from moving our towers to a location identical to where we’ve been for decades in the event new technology or changes in the industry allow us to provide a better signal."
The amendments are being brought to a vote next THURSDAY (9/30).
