ALL ACCESS is pleased to announce that MELISSA CARR will be joining our Country office in MUSIC CITY as our new Assistant Country Editor. MELISSA, who will be working with KELLY DANIEL and JIM ASKER in NASHVILLE, replaces MATT HARGIS. We told you that MATT, who was here for 5-years, would be leaving us last week to join a major label in town. We still can't tell you where he is, although he's been on the job for 3-days now. He's under the "Country Cone Of Silence." As soon as we get the press release we'll announce it.
MELISSA, with a great background in the music industry, spent almost 5-years at BORMAN ENTERTAINMENT. She has also worked for EMERALD ENTERTAINMENT and most recently was employed at BY THE BOOKS, an administrative company on MUSIC ROW. MELISSA joins ALL ACCESS, beginning MONDAY, APRIL 10th.
"We're thrilled to be able to have MELISSA join ALL ACCESS," said Country Editor JIM ASKER. "We talked to many great folks and it was obvious from the minute that I started talking to MELISSA that she was the one. Her personality is very infectious, she brings a great wit and a ton of skills to the table, and she has a tremendous background. She could have taken many jobs, and I'm just glad that she'll be coming here. People on both the radio and record side of the industry are going to love her. I think that she'll easily bring our office to a whole new level."
MELISSA said, "Looking back I have been more than lucky to have worked with and around some of the best people and institutions in this industry. This opportunity to work with ALL ACCESS and its staff is no exception! I am anxious to learn from JIM ASKER and JOEL DENVER. It is humbling they want to work with me. I also feel blessed to be able to work along side KELLY DANIEL & TAMMY RAGUSA, who are two women I really admire. Being the new ASSISTANT COUNTRY EDITOR is so exciting and I realize MATT HARGIS has left some big shoes to fill. I look forward to the challenge and writing about what I love!
ALL ACCESS President/Publisher JOEL DENVER added, "We think MELISSA's personality and contacts will be a big asset to ALL ACCESS/NASHVILLE at both the radio side and the label side of our community. Relationships matter in our businss, and MELISSA brings many of them to the table, and whoever she doesn't know, she'll win over in a heartbeat. We have lots of confidence in MELISSA."
