COUNTRY HALL OF FAMER FERLIN HUSKY, who had a 10-week #1 record with the Country classic “Gone,” in 1957, is about to get some long deserved recognition in his hometown of LEADWOOD, MO.
HUSKY, now 84, was originally from a small town a few miles from LEADWOOD, which was known then as FLAT RIVER, but was changed to PARK HILLS. The folks in LEADWOOD have already named a street after FERLIN and are planning on displaying his memorabilia schoolhouse in the town and now there’s also a movement to rename a highway “FERLIN HUSKY Parkway Drive.”
