As first tipped earlier TODAY on ALL ACCESS, BARNSTABLE BROADCASTING Hot AC WMJC/LONG ISLAND, NY will flip at 5p (ET) TOMORROW (11/05) to new calls WIGX and moniker, "THE NEW 94-X LONG ISLAND's HIT MUSIC FOR GENERATION X."
94-X, consulted by JOEL SALKOWITZ, will debut jockless and will focus on hit music from the mid-'80s up through 2005. In addition, throughout the rest of the year, 94-X will feature "Three Day Weekends" going commercial-free from 5p FRIDAYS through 5p MONDAYS.
While morning host PHATHEAD and middayer and market vet MALIBU SUE are no longer part of the new format, current PD JON DANIELS is still aboard, telling ALL ACCESS, "We are tremendously excited to bring LONG ISLAND this revolution in music radio with a cutting-edge concept that is perfect for the market."
