November 22, 2010 at 2:31 PM (PT)
The CMA (COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION) held its annual BOARD OF DIRECTORS meeting in NASHVILLE this week and elected its new BOARD. The new BOARD year does not begin until JANUARY 1st, 2011.
STEVE MOORE stepped down from his role as Chairman of the Board in AUGUST when he assumed the post of CEO of the Association. At that time, STEVE BUCHANAN, GAYLORD ENTERTAINMENT SVP/Media and Entertainment, moved from President of the Board to Chairman, and SONY MUSIC NASHVILLE Chairman/CEO GARY OVERTON moved from President-Elect to President of the Board.
An organized succession in CMA's volunteer leadership was established in 2003. Four directors also serve as Officers of the Board, those being Chairman, President, President-Elect and Secretary/Treasurer. This move established a line of succession with the President-Elect moving to President and the President becoming Chairman.
These officers for the 2011 term will be Chairman STEVE BUCHANAN, Pres. GARY OVERTON and President-Elect PAT COLLINS, President/COO of SESAC.
