Strong consumer demand has prompted APPLE to increase its Q1 2011 iPHONE shipments to upwards of 21 million. Tech blog DIGITIMES reported that anonymous TAIWANESE component suppliers had said the first-quarter shipment goal for WCDMA iPHONES was raised from 13 million to 14-15 million units and soon-to-launch CDMA iPHONES had been set at 5-6 million units.
The sources also cited Q4 iPHONES worldwide sales of 15.5 million units, totaling 47 million iPHONES sold in 2010.
The statements on CDMA phones are fueling speculation about the rumored arrival of the iPHONE on VERIZON’s mobile network.
