PUBLIC BROADCASTING OF NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA/WQLN PUBLIC MEDIA, licensee of noncommercial WQLN-F and PBS affiliate WQLN-TV/ERIE, PA, is suing the ERIE COUNTY GAMING REVENUE AUTHORITY once again for a share of gambling revenues from the PRESQUE ISLE DOWNS AND CASINO. The ERIE TIMES-NEWS reports that WQLN seeks to be named a "dedicated regional asset" eligible for a share of funds raised through the gambling operation.
The suit alleges that the company has asked to be added to the present list of nine nonprofit operations eligible for the funds, but that the board has yet to act on the request, and that the board has never explained the criteria for determining which organizations are eligible.
