The TEXAS MUSIC CHART/SHANE MEDIA SERVICES is launching a companion Internet Radio Chart called the “TEXNET 50,” as a result of the recent growth of TEXAS and Red Dirt music online.
The TEXNET 50 will include in its reporting panel pure-play Internet only radio streams along with terrestrial radio online simulcasts. The chart is based on the total airplay or spins at each reporting station. Spins are counted based on what’s reported to us by each reporter. The TEXNET 50 reporting stations define what constitutes Texas/Red Dirt country music just as the Texas Music Chart reporters do.
Chart Editor KATIE KEY said: “We are so excited about the response to our announcement. This is an all new resource for the music industry in TEXAS. You could even say it’s part of the ever growing future of TEXAS music. Just as we were on the cutting edge 10 years ago when we started the TEXAS MUSIC CHART, we want to lead once again with the TEXNET 50 INTERNET CHART.”
In the first three days, 18 online stations jumped on board to immediately start reporting their weekly plays of Texas/Red Dirt music to TEXNET 50, including KVET.com, TexasMusicWorld.com, KTEX.com, KFWR.com and more.
The first TEXNET 50 chart will be published on JANUARY 17th, the same day the first TEXAS MUSIC CHART is published for 2011. Reporting to both charts begins JANUARY 10th.
Anyone who plays TEXAS/Red Dirt Music online, either as a pure-play Internet station or a terrestrial radio simulcast, and wants to be a reporter, contact Katie@shanemedia.com for more details.
