Longtime BOSTON air personality DICK PLEASANTS was honored in a special concert held at SANDERS THEATRE on FRIDAY night (1/7). A bevy of folk luminaries, including TOM RUSH and LORI MCKENNA, took part in the tribute concert, which doubled as a fund-raiser for UNIV of MASS. AAA WUMB/BOSTON to name one of its studios in PLEASANTS’ honor.
The host, who was a force on BOSTON's airwaves for 40 years, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003. The BOSTON GLOBE has more here.
