EMMIS COMMUNICATIONS reported that its radio division increased revenues in the most recent fiscal quarter by over 7% Radio revenues in the U.S. rose to almost $45 million for the fiscal quarter that ended NOVEMBER 30th, 2010, but that wasn't enough to keep the company out of the red for the quarter.
According to the INDIANAPOLIS BUSINESS JOURNAL, EMMIS' radio stations "boosted their operating profit by 33% in the quarter compared to the year-ago period. They earned $13.5 million, up from $10.1 million."
However, that was offset by revenue decreases in EMMIS INTERNATIONAL ($3.9 million to $3 million) and Publishing ($18.9 million to $18.5 million).
According to GURUFOCUS.COM, MILLER KAPLAN reports that EMMIS' big-market stations in NEW YORK, LOS ANGELES and CHICAGO slightly under-performed their markets, but ST. LOUIS, AUSTIN and INDIANAPOLIS out-performed the competition.
