CBS LOCAL MEDIA has named AKILAH BOLDEN-MONIFA as SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Market Communications Dir. and RO DOOLEY-WEBSTER as BOSTON Market Communications Dir., effective immediately.
BOLDEN-MONIFA, who previously was Communications Dir. at KPIX-TV (CBS 5) and KBCW-TV (The CW BAY AREA) since DECEMBER 2002, will now oversee public relations for all of the CBS LOCAL MEDIA properties in the BAY AREA -- TV, radio and online.
DOOLEY-WEBSTER, who was Communications Dir. at WBZ-TV and independent sister station TV38 (WSBK-TV), will oversee the public relations and public affairs functions for all of the CBS Local Media properties in the BOSTON market.
"Our stations in the BAY AREA have established a standard of excellence by serving millions of viewers and listeners across NORTHERN CALIFORNIA with outstanding programming and community service initiatives in a way that no other media company can duplicate," CBS LOCAL MEDIA COO ANTON GUITANO said. "Our position in the marketplace has been greatly enhanced during the past year as a result of the increased collaboration between our television and radio stations and the launch of CBSSANFRANCISCO.COM. We are fortunate to have someone with AKILAH’s experience and strong ties to the BAY AREA media and community organizations as the spokesperson for all of our local properties and look forward to having her continue to make important contributions to the growth and success of our stations."
"CBS has an unparalleled collection of assets in the BOSTON marketplace which has grown even stronger over the last year as a result of the increased collaboration between our television and radio stations and the launch of CBSBOSTON.COM," GUITANO continued. "RO has played a key role in helping our stations identify opportunities to pull together and work toward their common goals. She clearly has the right combination of experience, knowledge of the market and enthusiasm that makes her uniquely qualified to serve as a senior advisor to our Boston television and radio management teams and take on the important role of serving as the spokesperson for all of our BOSTON properties."
