BROADCAST ARCHITECTURE has added HANMI BROADCASTING Talk WPBC (THE KING)/ATLANTA to its Smooth AC Radio Networks' weekend programming, which includes The Smooth Jazz Top 20 Countdown and shows hosted by KENNY G, NORMAN BROWN and PAUL HARDCASTLE.
"Jazz is such an important music genre that was missing from the ATLANTA airwaves as well as the music scene," GM DANNY WILSON shared: "Jazz on AM 1310 THE KING will give the city a balance when it comes to listening to music. A city without Jazz is like a city without water. No city music science can survive without Jazz. Jazz is the foundation of most of the music genres you hear today. AM 1310 THE KING appreciates the opportunity to bring Jazz back to the airwaves of the ATL."
"We’re very excited to be working with DANNY and his team in Atlanta," BA Owner/Pres. ALLEN KEPLER said. "Bringing Smooth Jazz music back to ATLANTA on the weekend is a true privilege for us. We believe that a spot for this format, which at one point had over 500,000 listeners in ATLANTA, is viable in every large market across the U.S. The new interest we’re getting from AM radio stations is very encouraging."
