REPUBLIC/NASHVILLE artist MARTINA McBRIDE has signed on to sing the National Anthem at this SUNDAY’s (1/23) AFC Championship game between the PITTSBURGH STEELERS and the NEW YORK JETS. McBRIDE has been a good luck charm for the STEELERS thus far when singing the anthem.
“MARTINA is 2-0 and we hope she brings the magic to stay undefeated,” said JOHN WODAREK, STEELERS Marketing Manager.
“Singing our National Anthem is always an honor. I will always remember singing the anthem in PITTSBURGH two years ago for the playoff game,” said McBRIDE. “It's amazing to be there in the middle of all those football fans and all that excitement, I can't wait!”
Fans can tune in to CBS-TV to see the performance broadcast live from HEINZ FIELD in PITTSBURGH on SUNDAY, JANUARY 23rd at 6:30p (ET).
SHOW DOG-UNIVERSAL MUSIC artist JOE NICHOLS has been announced as the halftime entertainment for the game as well.
“I am a sports fanatic and being able to perform at halftime for the fans of the STEELERS and the JETS is such a thrill for me,” NICHOLS said. “One of these teams will be going to the SUPER BOWL—enough said! So being able to pump the fans up, even more than they already will be, is my goal. Thanks to the STEELERS' organization for making it happen.”
