TOOTH & NAIL RECORDS sister duo POEMA will be raising money for EXODUS CRY through a charity event "A PIECE OF POEMA" in conjunction with OCTOBER MOON BOUTIQUE. The sisters will donate personal items from their closet to the event, which begins FEBRUARY 1st and runs through the entire month.
EXODUS CRY is an organization devoted to raising awareness to help end human trafficking and slavery. The charity event begins on NATIONAL FREEDOM DAY (2/1).
SHEALEEN and ELLE of POEMA donated 20 items including dresses, tops, skirts, shoes and accessories that they have worn on tour, in photo shoots or in music videos. Each week five new pieces from their wardrobe will go up for sale online at OCTOBER MOON BOUTIQUE.
In addition to the purchase of the POEMA item, each package will receive an autographed photo of the duo. Fans can also enter a special giveaway on OCTOBER MOON’s blog. The prize pack includes a handmade POEMA t-shirt, OCTOBER MOON BOUTIQUE t-shirt, STEVE MADDEN sunglasses and a conductor style cap by HG.
"Nobody wants to think of slavery as an issue anymore. I think that maybe we want to believe that it is a thing of the past and not a modern day occurrence. The sad truth is that human trafficking is a worse epidemic than it has ever been. ELLE and I chose to support EXODUS CRY because we want to be a part of what they are doing. They help people in different cities all over the world experience the freedom we have taken for granted all our lives, and we would love to be involved by supporting them and praying for the different cities and countries that they are reaching!" said SHEALEEN.
