REPUBLIC NASHVILLE has added CAPITOL RECORDS/NASHVILLE Dir./Regional Promotion for the Southeast, MATTHEW HARGIS as Nat'l Dir./Promotion, replacing BOBBY YOUNG. HARGIS re-joins his old boss, Pres. JIMMY HARNEN, who he worked for when he first joined CAPITOL as Promotion Manager in JULY, 2007.
"In less than two years REPUBLIC NASHVILLE has taken the music industry by storm. I am honored and thrilled to be joining this stellar team of professionals led by SCOTT BORCHETTA and JIMMY HARNEN. The REPUBLIC NASHVILLE artist roster is bursting with talent that continues to blaze new trails with fresh, exciting music,” said HARGIS.
“As I have known and worked with MATTHEW, he has always been the person who delivered solutions ... a ‘go-to guy.’ It's like having a SHERMAN tank in your garage,” said HARNEN. “He has a unique way of looking at any situation and providing a fresh approach, not to mention he is one of the nicest human beings you will ever meet. Everyone at REPUBLIC NASHVILLE is very excited about his arrival.”
HARGIS will report directly to HARNEN and can be reached at (615) 324-7903 or email@example.com beginning FEBRUARY 1st. HARGIS started his career as Assistant Country Editor at ALL ACCESS in 2001.
Young Heads To Capitol
Concurrently and ironically, replacing HARGIS at CAPITOL RECORDS NASHVILLE, as Dir./Regional Promotion, Southeast, is BOBBY YOUNG. BOBBY will be based in NASHVILLE and report directly to VP/Promotion SHANE ALLEN. The announcement was made by SVP/Promotion, STEVE HODGES.
"I am more than thrilled that BOBBY has agreed to join our family at CAPITOL,” said HODGES. “I couldn't think of a better qualified candidate, anywhere! His vast knowledge of the ever-changing record business and his extensive promotion experience will be a tremendous asset, not only to the promotion department, but to our entire building."
"I've admired the winning work ethic and champion environment at CAPITOL RECORDS NASHVILLE , and I consider the opportunity to be a member of this team and to work for STEVE HODGES and SHANE ALLEN second to none,” said YOUNG. “It's a real blessing. I'm looking forward to not only working with Capitol's great roster of artists, but also to being back in the Southeast working hands on with my friends in radio. It's the best part of the job.”
YOUNG starts his new post at CAPITOL on FEBRUARY 1st, and can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
