More than 75 media leaders and student volunteers convened in WASHINGTON, D.C., this past weekend to participate in the judging of the 2011 GRACIE AWARDS from THE ALLIANCE FOR WOMEN IN MEDIA (AWM). This marks an all-time record number of judges who participated in the peer review, deliberation and scoring necessary to select the 2011 GRACIE AWARD WINNERS.
The nearly record-number of media entries were reviewed during this weekend's marathon judging session, hosted at the GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS.
"We appreciate our judges, who came from places ranging from CALIFORNIA to CROATIA, for braving the dynamic WASHINGTON weather and donating a weekend of their time so that we could conduct a peer review of the media entries for the 2011 GRACIES," commented AWM Pres. ERIN FULLER, CAE. "We are excited by the caliber of this year’s entries, and look forward to honoring the best and brightest for, by and about women on MAY 24th and 25th in LOS ANGELES."
