2nd Time's The Charm ... A Historic #1 Song For Chris Young And RCA

A big congrats to RCA RECORDS/NASHVILLE VP/Promotion KEITH GALE, National Promo Director NORBERT NIX and their promo staff, as CHRIS YOUNG’s single, “Voices,” makes it to #1 on the MEDIABASE Country singles chart this morning (2/7).
It’s also historic in that “Voices,” was released as a single in 2008 originally and peaked at #37. After that YOUNG went on to have two back -to-back #1 songs with “Gettin You Home" and "The Man I want To Be.”
“Voices,” has now been on the MEDIABASE Country Singles Chart for 43 weeks and marks CHRIS YOUNG’s third #1 single. It’s also the second time in modern chart history that a song has been re-released, eventually going to #1. The first was when RANDY TRAVIS did it in 1986 with “On The Other Hand.”
VP KEITH GALE reflects on the accomplishment: "CHRIS YOUNG's "Voices" hitting #1 is a very proud moment in RCA's history. It's his 3rd #1 in a row, and marks only the third time ever that the same recording was re-released and went on to be a #1 single. "Voices" had peaked in a previous life at #37 in 2008, but today it sits on top of the charts. The only thing above it is the letterhead. I'm proud of CHRIS YOUNG and the RCA Promotion staff, and I am humbled and honored to work with them. And today we ship "Tomorrow", the first single from his new album. What a great day."
