CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Country WKDW-A/STAUNTON, VA “Take It Easy Time” host RAY HOUSER parted ways with the station after his last show on SUNDAY, JANUARY 30th. RAY, who is 83 years old, had been with WKDW for 64 years and decided to depart following his health’s decline in recent years.
HOUSER, who was born blind but later regained his sight through surgery, told the STAUNTON NEWS LEADER: “I never thought I’d come this far in radio. In fact, I had people to tell me that I’d never make it. I’m glad ... that I’ve been able to get done what I’ve done.”
Plans are in the works for another public affairs program to take HOUSER’s slot, but a decision has not been announced yet.
