Baba Booey Gets Grilling, Endorsement For Greenwich Parks Department

Concerned GREENWICH, CT resident and parent GARY DELL'ABATE came before the Representative Town Meeting Appointments Committee TUESDAY night to be considered for the panel's endorsement for a seat on the city's Board of Parks and Recreation, but DELL'ABATE's day job became an issue, the day job being Producer of SIRIUSXM's HOWARD STERN show.
The GREENWICH TIME reports that "BABA BOOEY" received some scrutiny -- and an abstention -- from board member COLINE JENKINS, great-great-grandaughter of suffragette ELIZABETH CADY STANTON, who said she "wasn't so happy" after learning about STERN's "shock jock" status and "throwing bologna slices at a naked woman." JENKINS abstained, saying that she was "upset about ... entertainment where women are not treated with respect." However, after explaining that he plays "a character to some degree, but I don't bring that home with me," DELL'ABATE earned the committee's endorsement. "I don't think Mr. DELL'ABATE's professional thing that he does should interfere with our vote," said committee member TOM CONELIAS.
DELL'ABATE, who coaches football in town, was unanimously nominated for the seat by the town Selectmen last month.
