CAPITOL RECORDS NASHVILLE’S DARIUS RUCKER and the NEW MEXICO LOTTERY unveiled a SCRATCHER game TODAY (2/10) based on RUCKER's latest album "CHARLESTON, SC 1966."
The DARIUS RUCKER SCRATCHER is available now at 1,100 stores across NEW MEXICO. The game's top cash prize is $65,000 and tickets are $5 each. The sale of NEW MEXICO LOTTERY games benefits LEGISLATIVE LOTTERY SCHOLARSHIPS, a college tuition-assistance program.
"When the NEW MEXICO LOTTERY asked me to participate in their campaign for education through the SCRATCHER, I immediately recalled my own high school days when I was asking myself how I would pay for college," said RUCKER, who was recently awarded an alumni award from the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA. "It is progressive programs like this that further the awareness and funding for scholarship programs, and I'm excited to be involved as a representative of the country music community."
In addition to instant cash prizes, the DARIUS RUCKER SCRATCHER offers second-chance drawings for players with non-winning tickets. Two players will win prize packages that include trips for two to meet RUCKER in NASHVILLE and see him perform at the CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL in JUNE. Players can enter their tickets into the drawing at www.nmlottery.com. The drawing is scheduled for MAY 10th.
