TED WILLIAMS, the homeless man with the golden voice, has left a TEXAS rehab center prematurely. The man who rocketed to fame on the back of a YOUTUBE video gone viral, said he is now staying at a "clean-living" recovery house in LOS ANGELES, where he is pursuing voiceover jobs and therapy.
"I stay in a room so there's no temptations," WILLIAMS told WBNS-TV/COLUMBUS anchor JERRY REVISH. "I'm pretty much shielded. I haven't been in no bars."
WILLIAMS passes on a few jobs, including one with the CLEVELAND CAVALIERS. WILLIAMS' Manager AL BATTLE said, "A little two-year job with the CAVS would hold TED back from the larger picture -- books, movies, a reality show, his own companies."
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH reports, "WILLIAMS and BATTLE both expressed displeasure with a recent DISPATCH story that mentioned BATTLE's arrests for cocaine possession and aggravated robbery as well as two prison terms. WILLIAMS has served time for theft, forgery and obstructing official business -- offenses, he has said, stemmed from his drug abuse."
