A huge cheer went up in Central CAIRO with the resignation of President MUBARAK. A similar cheer went up here in the STATES, except that the throngs were celebrating the release of "Born This Way," the highly-anticipated single from LADY GAGA that hit #1 on iTUNES in three hours flat.
So who was the first station to spin the song? CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WFLZ/TAMPA PD TOMMY CHUCK is claiming that honor. CHUCK told ALL ACCESS, "We were the first station in the world to play the song and it got us into the worldwide TWITTER Trending list, which is huge! Big props to DREW HALL, our Creative Services Dir. and Online Content Coordinator for staying up all night manning FACEBOOK, TWITTER, and getting the single on the air in record time!"
An amazing 50+ stations had double-digit spins on "Born This Way" by FRIDAY afternoon, including Z100, WKTU and WXRK/NEW YORK, KIIS and KAMP/LOS ANGELES, WKSC and WBBM/CHICAGO, KMVQ/SAN FRANCISCO and many others.
