FISHER COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has elected longtime television executive ANTHONY CASSARA to its Board of Directors. CASSARA, the former GM at KTLA (TV)/LOS ANGELES, President of PARAMOUNT PICTURES' Television Station Group and EVP of CHARTWELL PARTNERS LLC, replaces DEBORAH L. BEVIER on the board.
"TONY is a well-known industry veteran with more than thirty years of broadcast experience, and we are pleased to be able to bring his unique insights and proven track record to our board room," said Chairman MICHAEL WORTSMAN. "TONY has a well-documented history of growing broadcasting businesses and creating shareholder value and he will be a great asset to FISHER."
CASSARA, who sat on the board of UNIVISION in 2005-07, currently sits on the boards of HERO BROADCASTING, operator of Spanish MTVTres affiliate KBEH-TV/OXNARD-LOS ANGELES and YOUNG BROADCASTING, which he joined as an expert director after the company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
