Two Translators, Noncomm FM Ask FCC For Silent STAs

BEST MEDIA, INC. has applied to the FCC for Silent STAs for FM translators W207BI/UNIVERSITY PARK, IL and W206BL/MOUNT PROSPECT, IL because their primary signal has temporarily gone silent.
In another FCC filing, The MENDOCINO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT has applied for a Silent STA to take noncommercial KAKX/MENDOCINO, CA silent due to personnel cutbacks and while the station implements a modified plan to resume with other school personnel; the station plans to resume before MARCH 18th. The station also advised the Commission that its EAS equipment is malfunctioning and will be sent to the manufacturer for repair.
In closings, REDWOOD BROADCASTING COMPANY has closed on the sale of Top 40-Country KJNY (JENNY 99.1)/FERNDALE, CA and FM translator K294AZ/EUREKA, CA to WILLIAM W. MCCUTCHEN, III's MAD RIVER RADIO, INC. for $300,000; KALIL AND CO. served as broker for the deal. Also closing was the sale by CLAY HOLLADAY's RADIO MONROE, LLC of Top 40 KNOE-F (STAR 101.9)/MONROE, LA to HOLLADAY BROADCASTING OF LOUISIANA, LLC.
