Lucian Grainge Officially Named Chairman/CEO Of Universal Music Group

VIVENDI has just made it official: LUCIAN GRAINGE is now the Chairman/CEO of UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP (UMG). Formerly UMG CEO, GRAINGE will continue to report to VIVENDI CEO JEAN-BERNARD LEVY and serve as a member of the VIVENDI Management Board.
"We are delighted to appoint LUCIAN to the top position in music worldwide," LÉVY stated. "His track record over the last 30 years in the music business is impeccable. He is perfectly qualified to lead UMG through the digital era across the globe."
GRAINGE, a British citizen, started his career with CBS/APRIL MUSIC in 1979, then spent time at POLYGRAM UK before taking command at UNIVERSAL MUSIC INTERNATIONAL.
In addition to his additional duties at UMG, GRAINGE has also been elected to the Board of Directors of software entertainment company ACTIVISION BLIZZARD, effective immediately.
