Will Univision COO Rise To Replace Departing CEO?
March 15, 2011 at 5:51 AM (PT)
ALL ACCESS reported YESTERDAY (NET NEWS 3/14), that UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS Pres./CEO JOE UVA had informed the Board of Directors that he has chosen not to renew his employment agreement in order to be able to seek other opportunities.
While no replacement was immediately named, THE NEW YORK POST reports, "the move comes less than two months after the company beefed up its executive team by hiring veteran TV executive RANDY FALCO -- another surprise move -- as its COO in charge of sales, marketing and corporate development. While the company said it is searching for a new CEO, sources close to the situation said FALCO, the former chief of AOL and a former president of NBC UNIVERSAL TV group, is the most likely candidate to step up."
