Producer/reporter CHADD SCOTT has exited DICKEY BROADCASTING Sports WCNN-A (680 THE FAN)/ATLANTA after he posted tweets on TWITTER critical of DELTA AIRLINES, according to a later tweet.
While waiting for a flight to take off from ST. LOUIS MONDAY morning, SCOTT, who produced the CHUCK OLIVER and MATT CHERNOFF midday show, tweeted, "stuck at ST. LOUIS airport. snow. DELTA out of de-icing fluid. expect a delivery to arrive in two hours. #fail" and, later, "the bean counter who saved delta a few bucks in st. lou hoping he wouldn't need more de-icing fluid this year screwed a lot of people today," "delta math 8:52am=1pm (maybe)," "us air & continental flying out of A terminal at st lou; #delta, cancelling flights. no de-icing fluid at airport. awaiting delivery," "not a big quote tweeter, but #delta should remember "when you fail 2 prepare, you prepare 2 fail." #springsnowinstlouis," and "new #delta strategy on de-icing planes in st. louis: wait 'til it melts. well, the company is based in atlanta."
TODAY, SCOTT tweeted, "I value honesty, openness & your follow-ship. I want 2 inform u I was fired from my radio job Monday for tweets critical of Delta Airlines.... Delta had $5.2B in 'unrestricted liquidity' for 2010, it spent Monday pressuring my radio station 2 fire me 4 tweeting re: botched service." Later, he wrote, "I don't blame radio station, huge company threatened to pull advertising $$$. I was easy sacrifice."
SCOTT's resume includes stints as producer for ESPN RADIO (on TONY KORNHEISER and COLIN COWHERD's shows) and for TALK RADIO NETWORK's MICHAEL SAVAGE as well as the regionally syndicated "SPORTS TAP." He has also filled in at WQXI-A (790 THE ZONE)/ATLANTA and KFNS-A/ST. LOUIS. He continues to write "College Football's Most Dangerous Blog" at CHUCKOLIVER.NET.
