CBS RADIO Top 40/Rhythmic WJHM (102 JAMZ)/ORLANDO and Nationally syndicated morning Host RICKEY SMILEY and several ORLANDO-based comedians have organized, STAND UP FOR STUDENTS, a benefit for students in transition.
On MARCH 6, CBS' 60 MINUTES aired a segment bringing attention to the plight of students whose families are 'in transition' in the ORLANDO area. These families have been evicted or have had their homes foreclosed because of the economy and are now living in motels or their cars. Over 5,000 students in a three county area are affected.
THURSDAY (3/17), 102 JAMZ morning host RICKEY SMILEY and local comics, including 102 JAMZ air personality JAY LOVE are doing STAND UP FOR STUDENTS to raise funds to help those students and families through the FAMILIES IN TRANSITION programs in the ORLANDO metro.
