Former ILLINOIS Governor ROD BLAGEOVICH, filling in with his wife PATTI at CITADEL Talk WLS-A/CHICAGO YESTERDAY (3/16) for morning hosts DON WADE AND ROMA, touched off some controversy by comparing his legal woes to a "tsunami."
The ASSOCIATED PRESS reports that BLAGOJEVICH said, "Lawmakers wanted to throw me out of office long before I, you know, I had my tsunami happen to me." He also said that he "was hijacked from office."
BLAGOJEVICH Spokesman GLENN SELIG released a statement saying, "He used the word 'tsunami' as a metaphor to describe how the world crashed around him.... It would be absurd to suggest the current catastrophe is anything like the events in his life."
BLAGOJEVICH was convicted of lying to the FBI last year but the jury was hung on 23 other corruption charges; he faces a retrial on 20 charges APRIL 20th.
