CBS RADIO News WCBS-A/NEW YORK Sports Dir./morning sports anchor JARED MAX is joining crosstown ESPN Sports WEPN-A (1050 ESPN), reports MEDIABISTRO's FISHBOWLNY's JERRY BARMASH.
NEWSDAY's NEIL BEST tweeted that MAX is headed for the "very early shift" at 1050 ESPN, and the station confirmed that MAX will host 5-6a (ET) weekdays and will anchor local sports updates during the network's MIKE AND MIKE IN THE MORNING, beginning APRIL 18th.
"Just like athletes we cover, I want to win, so, you can imagine the thrill in joining ESPN's flagship radio station in NEW YORK," MAX said. "And, I know most leadoff hitters don't hit many home runs, but you can be sure I'll be swinging for the fences every morning I get to set the table on 1050."
