FCC Upholds In Part Fine Against Texas Noncomm

The FCC has denied WEST TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY's appeal of a fine for unauthorized operation of noncommercial KWTS (THE ONE 91.1)/CANYON, TX but has canceled a portion of the fine for a late license renewal application because the statute of limitations had run on that violation.
The fine has been reduced to $3,200, the base amount for unauthorized operation less a 20% reduction for a history of compliance. An additional $2,400 fine for the late license renewal application has been dismissed.
