The animated television version of "NAPOLEON DYNAMITE" being developed by 20TH CENTURY FOX TELEVISION for the FOX network will have a familiar voice as a regular guest star, TALK RADIO NETWORK host PHIL HENDRIE. HENDRIE, who notably provided several voices for "KING OF THE HILL," has been recording voices for the show this money, including a "liger farmer" who sounds a lot like regular HENDRIE radio character STEVE BOSELL, and a school counselor reminiscent of radio character BOBBIE DOOLEY.
HENDRIE said, "What great fortune to be working with another smart and funny animated show at FOX. And the fact that I had the opportunity to work with many of the artists who created the film was also a first for me, and a great one."
The FOX network has ordered six episodes of the show, with JON HEDER returning to voice the titular character he memorably played in the film version and EFREN RAMIREZ (PEDRO), AARON RUELL (KIP), and JON GRIES (UNCLE RICO) back as well. JARED and JERUSHA HESS, creators of the original film, are writing and executive producing the TV version along with MIKE SCULLY, a longtime "SIMPSONS" producer.
