WILMINGTON BLUE ROCKS minor league baseball is moving from CLEAR CHANNEL Sports WWTX-A (1290 THE TICKET)/WILMINGTON, DE to ROWAN UNIVERSITY noncommercial WGLS/GLASSBORO, NJ for the 2011 season. WGLS will air all 140 games plus playoffs, with JOHN SADAK and MATT JANUS calling the action and ADAM DOBROWOLSKI handling pre- and post-game hosting, scoreboard updates, and producing.
"We are elated to partner with a strong, FM-quality signal for all BLUE ROCKS broadcasts home and away," said BLUE ROCKS GM CHRIS KEMPLE. "Our fans will now have the opportunity to hear every game in its entirety throughout NEW CASTLE COUNTY, SOUTH JERSEY, DELAWARE COUNTY in PENNSYLVANIA and beyond from the first pitch to the final out. The staff at WGLS has been incredibly accommodating in both carrying and promoting our broadcasts. To combine forces with an award-winning station that serves as an educational tool for its students and a positive force in the DELAWARE VALLEY community is a true win-win situation for our team, ROWAN students and our fans."
"I really think this partnership will prove to be a huge benefit for our students and listeners," said WGLS GM FRANK HOGAN. "The hands-on experience our station members will enjoy from this relationship is immeasurable. Combining forces of one of the nation's top college radio stations with one of Minor League Baseball's most successful teams equals a true home run in every sense."
