Report: Oakland A's Hit Snag In Attempt To Buy Radio Flagship KTRB From Receiver
March 28, 2011 at 4:23 AM (PT)
The OAKLAND ATHLETICS are coming up on the season opener with the team's radio deal for 2011 still up in the air, and the OAKLAND TRIBUNE reports that negotiations for the team to buy flagship Sports KTRB-A (XTRA SPORTS 860)/SAN FRANCISCO out of bankruptcy have hit a "major snag."
The A's have been trying to strike a deal with receiver COMERICA BANK to buy the station but have yet to reach agreement, and the weekend's spring training games did not air on KTRB, but streamed on mlb.com instead. A release said that radio broadcasts would resume for the final pre-season series against the cross-BAY rival SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS, but the season opener FRIDAY against the SEATTLE MARINERS remains in question.
