The FCC has fined a FLORIDA pirate station operator $20,000, hitting MARCKENSON BAZILE with the sanction for running a station on 103.9 FM in MIAMI.
FCC agents heard the station and found a website for "103.9 PARADIS FM" with an e-mail address for BAZILE; agents met BAZILE while investigating a 103.9 FM pirate at another location, and BAZILE, who apparently also used the name "T-POUCHON" on the station's website and had previously admitted to operating a pirate station in PORT ST. LUCIE, FL, claimed the station was located in a locked space he was subleasing.
The repeat offense led the FCC to double the base fine.
