NORTHWESTERN RADIO Contemporary Christian KTIS/MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL launched its "98.5 KTIS WINTER CONCERT SERIES AT MALL OF AMERICA" this past JANUARY followed by concerts in FEBRUARY and MARCH. The aim of the concert series was to provide a free event for listeners and to engage non-listeners with the outreaches.
The first concert was held on MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY (1/17) with REUNION RECORDS artist BRANDON HEATH. About 3,000 people were in the BEST BUY ROTUNDA at MALL OF AMERICA for the show. The second concert featured SPARROW RECORDS artist JOSH WILSON on VALENTINE'S DAY (2/14) with about 1,750 people in attendance. The third and final concert was with INO RECORDS artist HEATHER WILLIAMS as over 1,500 people gathered at the ROTUNDA.
According to KTIS Director of Listener & Community Engagement MORGAN WOOD, the station will be gearing up for next year's concert series in late SUMMER or early FALL and will look for a stronger emphasis on community involvement in addition to the artist's performance.
