Condolences to family and friends of Classical WFMT/CHICAGO "FROM THE RECORDING HORN" host ANDY KARZAS, who died MONDAY (4/11) of stomach cancer at his CHICAGO home, according to the CHICAGO TRIBUNE.
KARZAS, who was 77, joined WFMT in 1957 for the first incarnation of the show, which ran until 1962. He left to work in non-radio jobs, including in sales at the TRIBUNE and CHICAGO MAGAZINE, before rejoining WFMT in 1972 and resurrecting "FROM THE RECORDING STUDIO," which has run weekly ever since.
