Making official a report in THURSDAY's NEW YORK DAILY NEWS, longtime "IMUS IN THE MORNING" news anchor and sidekick CHARLES MCCORD has announced his retirement after 48 years in radio. MCCORD confirmed on FRIDAY's show that he will step down from the show on MAY 6th, the last day of the annual IMUS RANCH radiothon.
MCCORD has been DON IMUS' on-air foil since the WNBC-A/NEW YORK days in the 1970s. A replacement for MCCORD would most likely come from IMUS' TV outlet, FOX BUSINESS CHANNEL, HINCKLEY adds.
