South Dakota Public Broadcasting Pioneer Martin P. Busch Dies

Condolences to family and friends of SOUTH DAKOTA public broadcasting pioneer MARTIN P. BUSCH, who died at his home in ATCHISON, KS FRIDAY (4/15) at 89, according to the SIOUX CITY JOURNAL.
BUSCH began working in radio at the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH DAKOTA's KUSD-A/VERMILLION, SD in 1954, ultimately rising to become Executive Director of the state's public broadcasting network and helping launch KUSD-TV, the first public television station in the state. He also developed the statewide public radio network with translators throughout the region, and hosted a radio show, "THE BOOKSHOP," in 1956-2001.
