Nevada Translator Sale Okayed By FCC
April 18, 2011 at 9:17 AM (PT)
The FCC has granted the transfer of FM translator K273AF/CARSON CITY, NV from EDDIE FLOYD to THE EVANS BROADCAST COMPANY, INC. for $20,000. The Commission is using its "Second THURSDAY" exception to the rule barring assignment of a license by a licensee whose qualifications have been called into question; FLOYD was convicted of multiple felonies and a previous sale of the translator to WILKS was designated for hearing because FLOYD indicated on the application that he had not been convicted of a felony. FLOYD's bankruptcy and the flow of compensation to his creditors rather than himself allowed the Commission to invoke the "Second THURSDAY" rule.
EVANS plans to use the translator to rebroadcast Classic Country KCMY-A (MY COUNTRY)/CARSON CITY.
