MARTZ COMMUNICATIONS GROUP has launched a new Alternative station in THE MOTOR CITY dubbed, "94.3 THE BONE, DETROIT'S NEW ROCK STATION" with 10,000 AMERICAN songs in a row under CEO TIM MARTZ and Corporate PD DREW SCOTT. The new FM translator station (W232CA/DETROIT) is simulcasting on 107.5 WGPR HD-3 and taking direct aim at longtime crosstown CHUM Alternative CIMX (89X).
YESTERDAY (NET NEWS 4/20), the company also fired up SMOOTH JAZZ 104.7 THE OASIS as part of its double translator/HD combo. Both stations operate from antennas near the top of the WWJ-TV tower in OAK PARK, in the center of the METRO area.
THE BONE is running jockless, targeting men 18-34 featuring appropriate demo-targeting juvenile humor and "BONER GIRLS." THE BONE is aggresively attacking 89X on-air and online at 943TheBone.com.
DREW SCOTT is overseeing the PD search for THE BONE. You can reach him at email@example.com.
