CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO has hired music research expert STEVE CASEY as its SVP/Program Research Strategy. CASEY, a member of the team that founded MTV and the channel’s first PD, joins from his role as President of STEVE CASEY RESEARCH INTERNATIONAL. At CLEAR CHANNEL, CASEY will report to EVP/Programming Development TOM OWENS.
"We are building a best-of-breed research organization within CLEAR CHANNEL because we believe that a strong consumer research organization is key to any company’s success," said CEO JOHN HOGAN. "STEVE CASEY has an incredible range of experience in the radio industry, from DJ to international radio programming expert, and he also worked with BOB PITTMAN, our Chairman of Media and Entertainment Platforms, at MTV. We pride ourselves on our connection to our listeners, and STEVE's insights will play a key role in determining how we continue to grow our leadership position in radio."
"I’ve provided tools and analysis to a number of CLEAR CHANNEL stations over the years, and I’ve seen first-hand their focus on the consumer listening experience," said CASEY. "I couldn’t resist the opportunity to become part of the CLEAR CHANNEL team, and I can’t wait to get to work to expand the reach of our programming and analysis efforts."
