Sylvia Rhone Rumored To Be Exiting Universal Motown

First it was UMG CEO/Chairman DOUG MORRIS, who exited in MARCH to become CEO at SONY MUSIC. Then ISLAND DEF JAM Chairman ANTONIO "L.A." REID, resigned to be a judge in SIMON COWELL's upcoming singing competition, "THE X FACTOR." Last week, UMG PUBLISHING Chairman/CEO DAVID RENZER announced his departure in a memo to staff members. Is UNIVERSAL MOTOWN Pres. SYLVIA RHONE joining the list of execs exiting UMG?
Recent reports allege that RHONE was being pushed out, but THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER reports that RHONE could stay at UMG to head an "entertainment company that would encompass management, recordings, merchandising, touring and endorsements, and would be financed in part or in whole by UNIVERSAL -- like a mini-ROCNATION."
Many expect RHONE to follow MORRIS to Madison Ave. -- perhaps to head JIVE RECORDS. BARRY WEISS, JIVE's previous Chairman/CEO, joined UMG as ISLAND DEF JAM-UNIVERSAL MOTOWN REPUBLIC Chairman/CEO last month. However, MORRIS signed a "no poaching" agreement in order to make the move to SONY, and that may prevent him from bringing any of his UMG team across the street.
