The COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM is preparing to close the exhibit “TAMMY WYNETTE: First Lady of Country Music, Presented by GREAT AMERICAN COUNTRY TELEVISION Network,” which opened in the MUSEUM’s EAST GALLERY on AUGUST 20th, 2010. The exhibit’s final day will be JUNE 12th and the MUSEUM is offering a lineup of WYNETTE-themed programs including a series of film screenings and a special program starring GEORGETTE JONES on SATURDAY, MAY 28th.
GEORGETTE, the daughter of WYNETTE and GEORGE JONES, will visit the MUSEUM on MAY 28th for a special concert and interview. GEORGETTE, who made her first musical appearance beside her parents at age three and made her first recording with her father at age 10, will perform a mix of original material and songs popularized by her mother. During the program, which begins at 2p (CT) in the MUSEUM’s FORD THEATER, she will also discuss her mother’s lasting influence and impact. Following the concert, she will participate in an autograph signing in the MUSEUM STORE.
The GEORGETTE JONES program is included with MUSEUM admission and is free to MUSEUM members. Admission to the film screenings is free. Check out more information on all COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM programs at www.countrymusichalloffame.org.
