Controversial KTRU/Houston Sale Closes
RICE UNIVERSITY has closed on the sale of noncommercial KTRU/HOUSTON to crosstown UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON for $9.5 million cash plus other non-cash consideration. The deal raised objections from some RICE students and community members concerned about the loss of the station's programming. PUBLIC RADIO CAPITAL represented the buyer and SUSAN PATRICK and GREG GUY of PATRICK COMMUNICATIONS served as brokers for the seller in the deal.
