SPANISH PEAKS BROADCASTING, INC. is selling silent KCGC/COARSEGOLD, CA to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $260,000 ($160,000 in a promissory note).

In other filings with the FCC, HARVEST TIME APOSTOLIC MINISTRIES is donating the construction permit for new FMs at BELOIT, KS; RICHTON, MS; and NASHVILLE, KS to HISPANIC FAMILY CHRISTIAN NETWORK, INC. for consideration of $1.

SPIRIT MEDIA is selling the construction permits for FM translators K252ER/CHINLE, AZ and K251BC/KAYENTA, AZ for $10.

The long-delayed sale of noncommercial Jazz-News-Talk WDUQ/PITTSBURGH from DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY to ESSENTIAL PUBLIC MEDIA has finally been filed with the Commission.  The $6 million deal received a boost earlier this week with a $1.5 million grant from the RICHARD KING MELLON FOUNDATION.

The board of trustees of DAVIS & ELKINS COLLEGE has asked for a Silent STA for WCDE/ELKINS, WV, which is experiencing "a decrease in student staffing availability."

HYE CHA KIM has applied to the FCC for an extension of its Silent STA for WDGR-A/LAWRENCEVILLE, GA, which went dark in AUGUST due to a transmitter problem and is also pursuing its move from DAHLONEGA, GA.

And ALATRON CORPORATION, INC. has applied for a new FM at PIKE ROAD, AL, proposing a new Class A covering an area adjacent to the MONTGOMERY market.

Controversial KTRU/Houston Sale Closes

RICE UNIVERSITY has closed on the sale of noncommercial KTRU/HOUSTON to crosstown UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON for $9.5 million cash plus other non-cash consideration. The deal raised objections from some RICE students and community members concerned about the loss of the station's programming. PUBLIC RADIO CAPITAL represented the buyer and SUSAN PATRICK and GREG GUY of PATRICK COMMUNICATIONS served as brokers for the seller in the deal.
